General Directions and Maps
For general directions and maps, please check
Providence TF Green Airport
Url: http://www.pvdairport.com/
Located a mere 10-15 minute cab drive from downtown Providence, TF Green is most conveniently located to travel to
Providence. A cab ride to the conference hotel costs around $45. A cheaper option is take the RIPTA bus, which costs
only about $2 (note that busses in Providence *never* change money, so be sure to bring some singles or even some
coins!).
To check the schedule please see
http://www.ripta.com/trips/trips.php: Choose Warwick as your departure and
Providence as your destion city. Then choose TF Green as your departure and Kennedy Plaza as your destination. From here
follow the directions to your hotel below.
Boston Logan Airport

An alternative airport that is often cheaper to fly into is Boston. A cab ride to Providence, which is about one hour
away, is very costly (more than $150 one way). However, there are convenient bus connections from Logan Airport to
Providence Kennedy Plaza via the Peter Pan/Bonanza bus company. For a schedule, please check
http://www.peterpanbus.com/tickets/fares.php.
The round trip is $40. Upon arrival at Kennedy Plaza, follow the instructions below.
A cheaper but less convenient option is to first connect to Boston South Station via the Silver Line (that runs every 10
minutes and only costs about $2 one way - again, be sure to bring exact change!) and to take the Peter Pan/Bonanza bus
only from there (the round trip to Providence from South Station is only $15). The one tricky part is to change from
Silver Line to Peter Pan in South Station. To do this, take the stairs up, exit the subway system, take another set of
stairs up and cross the entrance hall/food court to exit the building on the very right. Walk to the right of the
rightmost tracks and enter the building at the end. Climb all the way up again where you will find the main South
Station Bus Terminal from where the Peter Pan busses depart.
How to get to your hotel from Kennedy Plaza
-
The Courtyard hotel is just across the square, behind the skating rink.
-
The Renaissance hotel is about half a mile away from Kennedy Plaza, right next to the mall. You can easily walk by the
train station to get there, or take a cab (ca. $5). Careful: Do *not* use Google Maps for this one, as Google still
lists the old hotel location in Cranston!
-
To get to the Radisson hotel, change into a cab (ca. $7), or take line 92 Green Line Trolley East to Fox Point. Exit at
Fox Point (which is *not* the last stop unless if your ride very late, ask the driver to give you a heads up), continue
down Wickenden street until you hit Gano, turn right, a couple of blocks down you find the Radisson hotel (also check
"Providence Harbor, Providence, RI" in Google Maps).
-
To get to the Saunders Inn at Brown, finally, again take a cab to 101 Thayer Street (ca. $7) or take line 92 Green Line
Trolley East to Fox Point and exit right after the tunnel on Thayer Street. Walk 4 blocks down south on Thayer until you
see the Inn on your left (check "101 Thayer Street, Providence, RI" in Google Maps).
